Jumping between tall buildings may be the occupation of superheroes and the insane, but with a V8 engine it'd be insane not to. 700ft drops beneath boulevard jumps while dodging air vents and roof gardens at 100mph might be too much, but it offers one hell of a view.
"Don't look down!" - Tyler
Skyline is one of the playable tracks in MotorStorm: Apocalypse. It is set on the tops of falling skyscrapers, which is where the area gets its name from. Smaller vehicles such as dirt bikes are more ideal for this map, though it can be raced with any class.

Mile High Club | Day 1, Morning | Tyler | Wasabi Phoenix, ATV | 3-Lap Race | Open Rolling | 3rd | What we're gonna do is drop you on a rooftop and see if you don't fall off. How's that sound? Me, I got Chips on you being a stain by the end of the race. Prove me wrong! | 5 |
Aces High | Day 2, Morning | Mash | Voodoo Ridgetail, Racing Truck | 3-Lap Race | Closed Rolling | 5th | The track guys have outdone themselves this time... They made a track in the sky, on the rooftops. If you rookies want to fight, be careful of the edges - these trucks aren't designed for flight. | 5 |
Falling Down | Day 2, Afternoon | Big Dog | Monarch GT101, Super Car | 4-Lap Race | Closed Rolling | 3rd | Remember our first MotorStorm, Maddy? It's ancient history for me, but I see now in Mash the boy I once was... and the man he'll become. I've left him something. See he gets it, okay...? | 5 |
Destruction and Hazards[]
Mile High Club[]
- The building the players start on falls forward during the countdown. When it lands against another building, the inertia carries the racers forward.
- Shortly after the first lap begins, the racers pass a crumbling building. A part of another building shortly ahead collapses and falls away.
- Crazies presence at the second turn.
- On the first turn during the second lap, a building topples and shears away part of the left path.
- Before the last turn on the second lap, two buildings will collapse.
- Before the last turn on the third lap, the tall black building that racers drove through during the previous lap will collapse. Its side will now be the drivable ground.
Aces High[]
- Behind the lap line, just before lap one starts, two skyscrapers topple and form drivable ground across an otherwise unjumpable gap.
- A "Skyline" sign, passed soon after the first right turn, explodes during the first lap.
- A water storage unit crumbles at the second right turn shortly after the Skyline sign explodes.
- Near the crane during the first lap, a DuskLite helicopter briefly opens fire on the racers, but it crashes into the crane.
- On the final lap, after the first turn, a building falls and hits the track.
Falling Down[]
- The streets below are flooded.
- Hostile presence.
- On the fourth lap, part of the building after the third turn collapses.
Trivia[]
- On certain variations of the track, DuskLite helicopters will fire on the player or even crash into the track.
- The Crazies can often be seen running around and climbing on the cranes.
- By the end of Day Two, if players look down or wreck, they will notice that the entire area at the base of the skyscrapers is flooded, suggesting that this portion of the city is underwater, likely due to tsunamis caused by the earthquakes. There is also a vast supertanker ship that has been washed inland, to the right of the large jump at the start of the course. This tanker could have been washed in through the Docklands, although that would not make sense because 'Falling Down' takes place in the Afternoon.
- The track is vaguely square shaped, and over half of the track is inside various buildings.
- In Mile High Club, in a building, there is a picture of the first Motor Storm.
- Skyline bears a high similarity to the Financial District in San Francisco.
- Skyline may have been originally named "Vertigo" based on early footage found in a developer's diary video.[1]
